Gifted & Talented Program

It is our belief that all students should be afforded the opportunity to receive enrichment in the area of their interest, where they are able to explore and further their understanding through creativity and complex thinking. The elementary schools in the Hopatcong Borough School District offer dedicated time to the enrichment of all of our students.

Selection Process

The Kindergarten through grade twelve identification process for gifted and talented students includes multiple measures in order to identify student strengths in intellectual ability, creativity, or a specific academic area.  The district ensures equal access to a continuum of gifted and talented education services.  The identification process shall include consideration of all students, including those who are English language learners and those with Individualized Education Plans or 504 Plans.
